Question By: Crawlings   Posted: 18-08-2009

Hello I'm currently enlisted in the Air Force but I separate next spring. I have been researching the regs about OSVETS and they say I can only enlist in a careerfield considered critically undermanned. Is there a new CREO out? I have been told that the CREO is released every 6 months but if I am reading this one correctly, it is from 2008? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm trying ot find as much information as possible regarding HM rating so I can be as much of a help to the recruiters as possible.

The HM rate, even though Creo 3, Still takes conversions and poeple into the navy. You should be able to walk into a recruiting station and ask for HM and they should be able to tell you when it is avalible.

I want to converting to IT rating but I can't find the form to record my 100 hours OJT. Is there a specifie form? V/r, AD3 Dang
Answer By: FleeBeeNC   Posted: 13-08-2009
I tried to convert myself to IT and all that I needed was a letter from our ITC stating the work I did and his recommendation. If you were working for the IT shop a letter of Designation would help.

Question By: PLARS*N*THE*NAVY   Posted: 20-01-2009

When a service member is promoted to his or her next higher pay grade through the Navy-wide Advancement Exam how is the pay increment scale weighed? Basically, is there a formula to determine who gets paid first? If advanced off the September 2008 cycle, when is the first and last possible date a Selectee can be paid for that cycle? Thanks!
Answer By: Dusty   Posted: 22-01-2009
From BUPERSINST 1430.16F: "705. EFFECTING ADVANCEMENTS E4 THROUGH E9 a. The member's relative standing among peers who participated in the same Navy-wide examination for advancement determines the effective date of advancement to paygrades E4 through E6. The effective advancement date for members selected for advancement to paygrades E7 through E9 is determined by the member's seniority in paygrade within the same rating. Advancements will automatically be effected on the date authorized on the RCA/Profile Sheet." They do not publish the specific formula used for determining individual increment selection. It's based on your Exam score and Eval average (for E4-E6), AKA "relative standing among peers". To answer your second question, if advanced from the MAR exam, the increments are on the 16th day of JULY through DECEMBER (6 total increments for that cycle). If advanced from the SEP exam, the increments are on the 16th day of JANUARY through JUNE (also 6 increments). Hope this helps. V/R, PS1 DCH

Answer By: NC_Uno   Posted: 09-12-2008
Your detailer has to be willing to negotiate for the location or type command and it has to be availible to negotiate for to be IAW the G2K instruction guidance. You are your best advocate for your negotiation terms with your detailer but keep your CCC informed via CC on an email or even include them in the negotiation phone call to Millington. Do not be afraid to use your resources availible to you.

how do i go about getting embassy duty?
Answer By: NAVYNC   Posted: 23-10-2008
Become familiar with Milpesman 1306-900 (914) and (921). The link of NPC will also help you. After that I would talk to your CCC and/or Detailer. http://www.npc.navy.mil/Enlisted/ShoreSpecialPrograms/NATO+PEP+Joint+Placement.htm
Answer By: NC_Uno   Posted: 07-11-2008
Contact the Joint or NATO detailers, as listed within link magazine or www.npc.navy.mil enlisted detailers, ask about availiblity and if you are a match for what is availible. Sell yourself for the job. You are your best advocate. Include your CCC in all of your correspondence to your detailers!
