Question By: rdh Posted: 09-06-2008 where can I find information on NEC archival, specifically, involuntary archival upon advancement to CPO? My current NEC is HM-8708/E-6. Am I still eligble for SRB if I make HMC? |
Answer By: NAVYNC Posted: 17-06-2008 The NEC Manual is a good place to start. That NEC is granted up to E7. The definitive answer and time efficient would come from the SRB desk. Keep in mind that to be SRB eligible you not only need to have an NEC, but be serving in that capacity or billet. Please let me know if you need more information. |

Answer By: NCC_Laney Posted: 17-06-2008 Being passionate about Sailors is definitely a plus. As for some pointers, make sure you know your programs (ie CIMS, PTS, Reenlistments/Extensions, Fleet Ride, CMSID, etc...) As an ISIC, I interview all Sailors trying to convert. Knowing the programs and being able to utilize them is the first thing I look for. Well, that and their package. Make sure you package is correctly put together..... |

Question By: joshua.caffey Posted: 16-05-2008 What is the best way to study for you 3 rd class exam? |
Answer By: curtmac Posted: 19-06-2008 The bibliography is the number one source for study material. Ensure that you have the most up-to-date copy. Do not over study. Study groups are very helpful. Try to study inrate material in or around your work space, and study military requirements at home, this breaks up your study sessions. Stay focus, make studying a priority. |

Answer By: roary815 Posted: 11-07-2008 I would suggest completing the Career Information NKO course for starters. And, of course, referring to the items listed on the NC Bib is a great place to find out what sort of things you will need to know.
If you are able, attend the Navy Counselor symposium. There is a wealth of knowledge and experience from the counselors there.
Hope this helps!! |
